Noted Highlights From Panthers Day One Of Training Camp

Day one of the Panthers training camp in Spartanburg, SC is in the books. Here are a few noted highlights from the team’s first practice.

-The Cam to Kelvin Benjamin hook up was something everyone had been waiting to see, and they wasted no time going to the big guy on a few slants. Benjamin seemed to move, cut, and make the routine catches look easy like he had during his rookie year.

-The coaches have clearly see something in the speedster, Damiere Byrd. Undrafted, but making last year’s practice squad, Byrd saw substantial action with the first team offense, and he looked good. Many beat writers think his chances of making the final 53 are higher than most are giving him credit for.

-Rookie cornerback Zack Sanchez made the play of the day for the secondary when he jumped a route and took a Derek Anderson pass to the house.

-Stephen Hill reeled in a Joe Web 40-yd prayer.

-Keyarris Garrett didn't show too much on his first day. He continues to be on the outside looking in.

-Philly Brown put on 20 pounds of muscle. He’s now up to 200, hoping to step into the role Jerricho Cotchery filled for the past two years.
