Carolina Panthers' New Year Resolutions For 2017

Every time the calendar turns to a new year, we take a moment and reflect on what needs to change in our lives.  As one of the voices of Panther Nation, I have a few resolutions for the Panthers for 2017.  Leave yours in the comment section.

Build the Offensive Line

Not since 2008 have the Panthers spent a first round selection on an offensive lineman.  Jeff Otah was that selection and he had a injury-shortened career.  That was the same year that we had two first-round picks in the same year and we selected Jonathan Stewart with the other pick.  Cam deserves better.  Cam needs better.  Mike Remmers should be our fourth tackle.  The Panthers also need to spend at least one other pick on an offensive lineman and preferably a center that can be groomed to replace Kalil in a year to two. When Cam has time, everything is better.  Dave Gettleman has not spent more than a third round selection on a lineman.  It is high-time. Ryan Ramczyk, Cam Robinson or Garrett Boles would be great selections. Look for the C3 Draft Guide coming out soon to get a breakdown on more lineman.

Use a Fullback

Yes, the Panthers have a Pro Bowl fullback on the roster.  But does anyone think Mike Tolbert is a fullback?  In reality, he is a good short-yardage back and that’s about it.  The Panthers need a Brad Hoover type fullback to resurrect our run game.  Only one time this entire year did Jonathan Stewart run for the more than 100 yards. That must change.  I’m resolute in that thinking.  David Gettleman needs to be too.

Stand With Cam

We believe in this so much, we made a shirt to that effect.  And what I mean when I say the Panthers must stand with Cam is A- Protect him B- re-establish the run game C- Be more vocal in defending him not getting flags and D- Re-think the clothing policy.  Let your free-spirited stars be themselves.  Otherwise they will be somewhere else.  Do you stand with Cam?

From all of your friends at C3, we wish you all a fantastic 2017 and may you be blessed and may your team bring you loads of joy and tons of Ws.
