C3 kicks off series, Where's That Cat Now? by catching up with former Panther great Will Witherspoon. Where's That Cat Now? celebrates past Panther players careers and lives, looking past football to see where they and what they are doing at this point in their lives. It's a human interest series that hopes to get an insiders look into past locker rooms, to play on the field, and most interestingly life outside of football.
The first episode in this new series doesn't disappoint. Witherspoon, the former 73rd overall selection in the 2002 draft played in Carolina from 2002-2005 and was a member of the 2003-4 Super Bowl team where he recorded 16 tackles. He later signed as a free agent with the St Louis Rams, where he played the through 2009, spending time with the Philadelphia Eagles and Titans.
Witherspoon's career off the field has been just as influential as it was on the field. Owner of Shire Gate Farms, a 700 acre track of land committed to responsible husbandry, Witherspoon has advocated before Congress for a more thoughtful approach to the use of antibiotics in livestock and still keeps a close eye on the football field as a sideline reporter for the St. Louis Rams.
Spoon really opened up in this interview, giving a personal picture of the Panthers locker room, Sam Mills and Mark Fields battles with cancer, the Panthers trip to the Super Bowl, and even the current group of Panther linebackers. So don't ask, find out Where that Cat's at Now!
