Cornerback Options for Panthers: Delvin Breaux

Cornerback Options for Panthers: Delvin Breaux

Panthers are dangerously thin at cornerback; could former Saint Delvin Breaux be an option?

The botched deal with Bashaud Breeland left the Panthers with an enormous hole at cornerback. After a down year in the secondary, Carolina cannot afford to go into the season without upgrading their backend.

5 Reasons the Panthers are Better than Last Year

Every offseason, the goal for an NFL team is to either get better or at least not get worse. It is hard for a team like the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots to improve the offseason after their championship, and it seems like they have taken a step back thus far. But for a below .500 team like our Carolina Panthers, improvement is expected. There is no question in my mind that the Panthers finish next season with more wins than losses, and will probably claim their third straight NFC South title as well. It is obvious Carolina has taken a step forward this offseason, and here are some of the reasons why.

Crew Reacts to Signing Sunshine: Brenton Bersin

Carolina worked out a deal to bring back Brenton Sunshine Bersin. The club signed an exclusive rights tender Tuesday for the former neighbor and fellow alum to Jerry Richardson. Free Agent LT Or Count On Pick 25?

Grab the mic Panther fans and let the nation know!  Open Mic is an open discussion thread. Just drop a comment in the comments section below. Respond to other fans, and as always #KeepPounding

So there really are two choices for the Panthers at LT:  Sign a veteran Free Agent this off-season or draft one early this May. There are a few Free Agent Left Tackles but they one I would want is King Dunlap out of San Diego.  Dude is a monster at 6'9 322 lbs.  And he's good too, as he only gave up three sacks in 645 pass plays in 2014.  But, he will cost more that the Dollar Store and do the Panthers want to spend that much on one guy?  I bet he commands $7M or so.  Though good, he's only played one full season without missing time so I don't see the $10M contract.

The other option is to put your trust in a rookie.  The Falcons found out how rough that is as their rookie last year (Jake Matthews) ranked dead last in the league after being picked fifth overall.  That is  the Falcons fifth pick did worse than our Byron Bell.  So do we trust someone at Pick 25?  Like say one of these guys that our writer JP talked about yesterday?  You tell me Panther Nation, King Dunlap or Ereck Flowers?  Your alternative is Byron Bell, so speak up or forever hold your peace.  Leave your thoughts and we'll tweet them out.
