Carolina Panthers Training Camp 2015: The Fan's Questions & Answers

Carolina Panthers Training Camp 2015: The Fan's Questions & Answers

I was able to go down to Spartanburg, South Carolina this past weekend for the Carolina Panthers training camp. It was hot but it didn't seem to matter to the large crowd. The whole training camp experience was fun, and the Carolina Panthers are looking like a team that could three-peat as NFC South Champions.

Before I left for training camp I asked the fans what they wanted to know about their favorite team. So I went down there and got them answers.

Climb to the Top Requires Balance

Climb to the Top Requires Balance

In the fable that many know called “The Fox and the Cat.” a cat looks onto a fox in favor. The cat asks him how he is doing and how he is during the hard times. Filled with arrogance, the fox rambles about how he is a master of many arts and possesses a sackful of cunning. The fox then says to the cat, “You make me sorry for you. Come with me, I will teach you how people get away from the hounds.”

Is Cam Newton's Girlfriend Pregnant? And What it Could Mean Going Forward

Amid recent rumors, I find myself in a familiar position, defending the Panther’s star quarterback Cam Newton. Though most find nothing wrong with fathering a child, it is the circumstances surrounding the situation that make me feel a bit uneasy. After we analyze what we know and what we don’t know, feel free to leave your conclusion on the matter in the comment section below.

Ranking the Panther's Top 10 Defensive Lineman

Ranking the Panther's Top 10 Defensive Lineman

The Panther’s have an embarrassment of riches in several areas of their defense, the defensive line being no exception. Our starting defensive lineman can stack up to almost any group in the league; however, it’s our depth that sets us apart. Though there is enough talent to make this list nearly twenty deep, I’ll keep it short enough to include the starters and key reserves.

The USC-Carolina Connection

The USC-Carolina Connection

Recently, I wrote a piece on the Georgia-Carolina Connection that looked at University of Georgia alum who have made their way onto the Carolina Panthers roster. My buddy Steve Danner immediately commented that the Bulldog contribution was thankfully greater than the Southern California Trojan’s.  This got me wondering, who has come from USC to Carolina and what have they done?

Panthers are Big on Coverage, Small on Hitting

Panthers are Big on Coverage, Small on Hitting

I was looking back at Luke Kuechly’s progression in pass coverage throughout the course of his career, and something struck me; a bunch of Panther’s players are great in coverage. Then as I was weighing each Panther’s players ability to lock down a receiving target, something else occurred to me; there aren’t that many big hitters on the team. Certainly this is no fluke, so I decided to research this topic further.

Panther's Roster Comparison: 2012-13 Baltimore Ravens

Panther's Roster Comparison: 2012-13 Baltimore Ravens

I share the opinion that the current Carolina Panthers roster is close to being very very good. I also believe it can be one that could possibly make a deep playoff run as soon as this year. I’ve chosen to compare our current roster to the one the Baltimore Ravens trotted out on the field for Super Bowl XLVII. Though comparing current rosters to ones of the past isn’t a fair judgement, it should give us a view into how talented our current team is.

5 Reasons the Panthers are Better than Last Year

5 Reasons the Panthers are Better than Last Year

Every offseason, the goal for an NFL team is to either get better or at least not get worse. It is hard for a team like the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots to improve the offseason after their championship, and it seems like they have taken a step back thus far. But for a below .500 team like our Carolina Panthers, improvement is expected. There is no question in my mind that the Panthers finish next season with more wins than losses, and will probably claim their third straight NFC South title as well. It is obvious Carolina has taken a step forward this offseason, and here are some of the reasons why.

The Panther's Future at Halfback

The Panther's Future at Halfback

Ever since Jonathan Stewart entered the NFL in 2008 and partnered up with franchise great DeAngelo Williams, the Panther’s backfield has been primarily a two back system. The tandem went on to reach heights never before seen among NFL record books in 2009, and officially earned the “Double Trouble” title. The pair’s great play led to lucrative contracts, part of which has cash strapped the salary cap to this very date. This past offseason saw the departure of DeAngelo Williams, and the bell cow label put on Stewart. We also welcomed a new bruiser in the form of Auburn star, Cameron Artis-Payne. It would seem the Panther’s finally have a new group of backs, a group that should provide stability and familiarity for years to come. Or maybe not.

5 Bold Predictions for the Upcoming Season

It’s that time of the year again; the part of the offseason where you are so football depraved, you can not help but ponder how your favorite team will play come opening day. To satiate my hunger for Panther’s football, and hopefully some of your hankerings for opinion based knowledge. I will forecast several possible scenarios for the 2015-16 season. Even though these are bold predictions, I do expect all of them to come to fruition, but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't pan out.
